Cold Lake Community Engagement & Visioning
ParioPlan led a team retained by the City of Cold Lake to develop and implement a comprehensive community engagement process that would help identify a long-term vision and strategies for a sustainable future for the municipality. The City was interested in identifying community and stakeholder views on issues related to levels of service, municipal taxation and governance.
The community engagement process was comprehensive and provided several opportunities for participation. The consultation program involved interviews with provincial and municipal officials and associations; focus groups with local business and community groups; interviews with former mayors, neighbouring municipalities and key stakeholders; and community vision building workshops. A telephone survey of 360 households was also conducted by Banister Research and input guided the recommendations and strategies developed by the consulting team.
