Growth Studies
Growth studies are undertaken by municipalities planning for future growth, whether jointly as the first phase of an intermunicipal development plan or as part of the land annexation process. This allows municipalities to respond to growth pressures by planning for orderly future development beyond their boundaries. It also facilitates the planning of servicing and transportation infrastructure and provides more certainty to land owners in future growth areas.
An important component of a growth study or annexation process is consulting with municipal decision makers, affected land owners and other stakeholders. ParioPlan is skilled at planning, facilitating and documenting consultation activities to ensure that feedback received during the process is heard and considered. This includes facilitating intermunicipal discussions to identify areas of divergent and mutual interests and common goals. For municipalities pursuing land annexation, ParioPlan also prepares annexation applications for submission to the Municipal Government Board and can provide representation at MGB hearings.
