Rural Planning
As rural planning encompasses a wide range of statutory and non-statutory land use policy documents, successful rural planning involves recognizing the unique social, cultural, economic and environmental characteristics that must be reflected in the planning process. The issues and approaches differ from those used in the urban context. For example, preserving agricultural land and operations are often key objectives for rural municipalities.
Our experience provides us with the necessary background to address the broad array of planning concerns facing rural communities. It also allows us to be effective in communicating with diverse rural populations and interests. We have successfully worked with rural municipalities, First Nations communities, and private developers to address their planning needs.
