Karolina Drabik, BA.A., MPA, RPP, MCIP
Karolina joined ParioPlan as a Senior Planner in early 2013. She brings expertise working with smaller urban and rural municipalities throughout Alberta on policy documents, statutory plans, land use bylaws and revitalization projects including the Alberta Main Street Programme. She understands the development challenges and opportunities that many rural areas face and has extensive experience engaging community stakeholders in all aspects of the planning process. At ParioPlan Karolina conducts research, policy reviews and analysis for a variety of municipal planning projects.
Merilyn Carlstad, BCD
With many years of drafting experience as a Planning and Drafting Technician in the public and private sectors, Merilyn supports ParioPlan projects with the production of detailed and accurate maps. She brings extensive mapping experience with planning and development projects including tentative plans of subdivision, area structure plans, general municipal plans, transportation concept plans, survey plans and land development plan profiles. She is also skilled at preparing figures for technical reports, exhibits and presentation materials for public meetings.
Sara Jean Sherman, BA, MPlan
Planner / Urban Designer
Sara Jean recently joined the ParioPlan team with a Master of Planning from the University of New South Wales and urban planning experience in Edmonton’s public and private sectors. Her professional experience includes planning and urban design at an Edmonton architecture firm where she worked on development feasibility studies, rezoning applications and reviewed zoning regulations and area plans to inform site and building design. She participated on multidisciplinary teams and consulting with project stakeholders. Sara Jean also brings experience as a Heritage Planner with the City of Edmonton, conducting research, preparing reports and consulting with community members.
Belinda Morale Smith, BA, BAA (UPLG)
Belinda joined ParioPlan in 2015 with 8 years of planning experience, many as a Senior Planner with a Toronto law firm that provided professional planning services. She has municipal project experience preparing plan and zoning bylaw amendments, conducting public meetings, liaising with municipal clients and presenting to Councils and Committees. Belinda facilitated approvals for many large-scale developments in the Greater Toronto Area, ranging from residential infill and hirise condos to retail and entertainment facilities. A skilled project manager, Belinda is lead planner on a number of ParioPlan’s rezoning projects and infill developments. She has a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson Polytechnic University.
Anne Wang, BES, CPT
Planner / Urban Designer
Anne has five years of professional experience as a Planner and Planning Technician – much of this at ParioPlan. Anne’s education and background combines a strong understanding of planning and urban principles with in-depth knowledge of graphic and cartographic principles. Her project experience includes subdivision, rezoning, area structure plans, streetscape design and land use bylaws. At ParioPlan Anne supports planning projects with research, analysis, and the development of detailed and accurate maps, graphics and conceptual drawings applying her strong technical skills in ESRI ArcGIS, MapInfo, AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, Corel Draw, Illustrator and MS Office.
Blessy Zachariah, BSc Arch, MUP
Blessy joined ParioPlan in 2014 with a Master in Urban Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from McGill University in Montréal. Her planning and design experience has been developed through studio projects at university and now as a Planner at ParioPlan. Involved in a variety of public and private projects, Blessy contributes to research, policy reviews, site analysis, community consultation, and document preparation including area structure plans, land use bylaws and urban design guidelines. She also assists with zoning amendments and subdivision planning for ParioPlan’s private development projects.
Joan has been ParioPlan's Office Administrator since 2006. She is an experienced, organized and energetic administrative professional with over 20 years experience. Joan oversees many aspects of the business operations including accounts receivable, invoicing, purchasing, records management and office equipment. Her advanced skills in MS Office software lend support to the production of reports, proposals and powerpoint presentations. She also assists project team members with scheduling meetings, travel arrangements, database management, mailouts and general project liaison.
